Boris Pharo. 5th September 1940 to 23rd January 2013 Boris was born in Burnham, Bucks and lived in and around the area, never moving too far from his familiar territory. Boris was an only child. Boris met and married Sue on 29th february, a leap year day, he said because then he only had to buy an anniversary card only once every 4 years! Father to Val, Jane and Danny and grandfather to Joanne, Adam, Emily, Jessica, Charlotte, Kyle and Marshall. In the early part of his life he was an apprentice at Eton Rural District council. After leaving he trained to be a hydraulics engineer, ending his career as a training instructor on fork lift trucks. Boris had a good life, jetting off to foreign shores twice a year and living life to the full. Once the travelling bug got him there was no stopping him. He was an active member of the British Legion in the UK, for a while he was the entertainments organiser, any excuse on a Saturday night for a few pints and a singalong! 10 years ago he decided to make Spain his home, a brave decision, but one many of us have made for a life in the sun. He enjoyed playing golf in the early days until a bad back forced him to give that up. The best part of course was the 19 th hole, watering hole that is. Many a good hour was passed in the local bars and restaurants, with friends, along with his new found talent, I use that term loosely, for singing on the karoke, namely the song 'lets dance the night away', most people will remember him singing that. Many people will remember his 70th birthday party and many other impromptu parties in the garden. For the last few years ill health had forced him to leave the social scene behind a bit. Never being able to pinpoint what exactly was wrong healthwise, his nickname became 'Mr Sicky'. I expect a lot of people will smile at that. The quote he enjoyed and wanted people to remember him by was the one Spike Milligan had on his headstone .....I told you I was ill. His favourite words were, mines a pint! That just about sums it up. Boris Pharo, what can I say? Made it to 72 can't be bad.........
